6 Blogging Tips for Your Website Ya'll

A website has several key elements that work together for its success, namely design, structure, content, maintenance, and SEO optimization. As we seek out information the social standard in today’s society is to Google it, or type in a word or phrase around what you are seeking. This is the importance of SEO optimization. You can have the best website in the world but if it is never found, it is worthless. Design and structure piggyback off each other providing a visually rich but branded experience when readers visit the site. With the use of any technology, the backend coding needs ongoing maintenance. Just like the internet, a website is constantly evolving and requires updates to continue to be up to its highest value.

One of the most effective ways to maintain a high SEO ranking is through regular blogging, or content creations. By using SEO keywords and phrases strategically placed throughout posts and when tagging posts is how to continually optimize a site. Many businesses find blogging to be intimidating in curating content. Dan Zarrella shared these tips on content creation for blogging: pick a niche and continue to share relevant news and tips about it, post consistently, mix up length of your posts, and include media.

What is Social Media Marketing Anyway Yo?

Social Media Confusion
In order to understand the ACT method, defined as attract, convert, and transform  one has to have an understanding of online marketing. Online marketing differs greatly than traditional marketing used over the last few hundred years. With the invention of the internet, the marketing industry has been presented with more challenges and more opportunities at the fastest rate ever in the industry.

Unlike in traditional advertising online marketing is a two-way conversation. Take for example a commercial, in this the company sends a message that is simply viewed and gets the product or service seen. In contrast, a blog post with a review of a product that is shared via social media created multiple outlets for conversations. Such as in, the comments section of the blog or in response on the social media threads.

Social media marketing is not as fast at getting products, services, and brands in front of people as it's thought to be. Social media marketing campaigns that are successful are those with long terms goals and quarterly reviews that understand they are cultivating relationship. It's not about a one way conversation like traditional marketing. It's a two way conversation. How do you feel when no one listens to you?

How to use Mobile Marketing for Coaches and Speakers

Often times trainers and coaches create packages for their clients. Wouldn't it be amazing to be able to add texts to those packages. And be able to schedule those texts?
Speakers wouldn't you like to be at an event and utilize every single attendee just by having them text you?

IMHO=Bless Your Heart: Isn't a License to be Rude

An experience lead to this post/ rant. Basically In my humble opinion (IMHO) can be the same as saying bless your heart. And neither cliche' is a license for being mean, rude, or pushy. Trust me I'm the queen of Bless your Heart. And I'm aslo guilty of being pushing, rude, and mean. All things I'm trying to work on. Which is why when someone tried to turn the tables on me and didn't accept my invitation to agree to disagree I had to vent.

What have your experiences with IMHO or Bless Ur Heart been?

Is it about the Journey or the Destination

After starting my business in October of 2011 I have felt like I’m on a sail boat in a totally unknown sea with only a very basic knowledge of how to man this ship. Along the way I’ve figured out the basics, enough to get me by. In other areas I’ve excelled more because I have complimentary experience to drawl from.

However, along the way I’ve come across some other captains and crews. Some with really really big yachts, others in rowboats, and some in boats equivalent to my own. Only they have a crew and some even a fleet of other ships that all match. As I met these other entrepreneurs or captains if you will I’ve been mentored. I’ve been befriended. And some have kept me distracted while their crew ripped my sails. Nevertheless, sails can be mended.

Now on the one year anniversary of my launch in 2011 I found my Tom Tom!
What is my Tom Tom? He is my “Big Idea” as Melanie Benson Strick would call it.
It’s a regular coping skill of mine to create order around me. A way of feeling in control when there areas that are out of my realm of control but may still affect me. For example, when we were almost destitute after the real estate crash I organize my house, my bills, my grocery list. You name it. If I had access or anyway to have order in my home I did it.

With that said it’s natural I would have skills on how to create a business plan. Nevertheless, it’s often times hard to implement skills for our own benefit that we so easily help others with.

But now I’m on the right track.

Do I have a business plan…technically no. (it’s not on paper)

But it is in my head. And I did put it on a board once…(And my dauthers erased it one day so they could play school in my office.)

It really doesn’t matter if you ask me. Because I know where I’m going. How I get there is part of the fun.

What about you? Do you have a plan for your Big Idea?

Ghosts Exist on the Internet and they are Social

Have you ever wished you had a clone? A clone that exclusively ran your social media, your blogging, or even returned your emails? Hell yeah we’ve all wanted that! And how about someone to do the laundry, make the bed, and cook.

But wait…that clone does exist. It’s called a housekeeper.
So why can’t you have the same thing for your online marketing?
But I have a virtual assistant you say. Or I got my nephew whose on Facebook all the time to do it.

How’s that working out for you?
A social ghost is someone who physically assumes the identity online of the person or organization they are being paid to represent in an authentic voice.
There are a few key points to make Social Ghosting successful
·        A plan
·        An NDA (a nondisclosure agreement)
·        Communication
·        Evaluation of correct platforms
·        The client has to be involved.
These are just a few tips and I’d love to hear your own experiences. The good, the bad, the successful and the epic fails. Don’t laugh you know we’ve all had them.

Let's talk more about social ghosting!
