Some Days I Don't Want To Be Me

I've said it before and I'll say it again I'm many things. I'm always busy, a person who thrives in the chaos. But you can't go at warp 9 all the time.

Today I just want to sit in a quiet, dark room with a single lamp on my kindle fully charged and my phone on airplane mode.

Perhaps, it's because I'm sick, or I'm pmsing, or I'm just wrung out, but the point is I'll do it. And I'll enjoy it. You know why...cause I need it. My mind, my body, my spirit.

Then I'll be back to normal, perhaps even better and cruising at warp 9 for a few weeks before I'll need to recharge again.

What's your warp? Do you ever withdraw? How?

  1. My getaway is my Nook. I take it into my room anywhere from 30min. to an hour. I listen to music. read or play angry Birds. I do this at least once a day if possible. I have three girls 12, 7 and 2. My husband watches them so I can relax. I started doing this because I was overwhelmed and stressed all the time. Taking that time helps me feel able to deal with things again.

  2. It's excellent to have some downtime now and then to cheer the soul, I'm a firm believer in this.
I usually go upstairs to the bedroom and lie down without any gadgets or any noise, and let my thoughts drift for an hour or two, not sleeping, just daydreaming.

  3. I like to chillax on my balcony. In fact, I am doing it right now. I got my doggeh sitting by my feet and my laptop on my lap. I'm watching the sunset and feeling pretty mellowed out.

Enjoy your break! Everybody needs some downtime eventually!

    Cheers from the Vegetarian Cannibal!

  5. I'm a bit late with my visit...so perhaps you are fully recharged. I'm sorry to hear you're not up to warp speed, but I honestly 'get' the down time needed.

Been there, done that...and I find my best recharge is spending time with my granchildren ~ they have a wonderful way of helping me feel young...they help me laugh out loud and feel the joy of a moment. The help me realize time matters when spent wisely.

Hugs to you Bri - I send you healing energy my friend.
