Traitors

Lucien Lemoine' couldn't believe his eyes. The scene before him was so shocking, he wished he could blink and make it go away.
Alistair Cyrille had been Lucien's loyal second in command in their clan of eternals for two centuries. Unfortunately, the scene before Lucien suggested that he had committed treason. The procreating with other races, specifically mortals, was taboo. "Eternal only mates with eternal" was a law enacted a century ago because the half-breed abominations were unmoral, volatile, and not bound by the same laws and restrictions as a pureblood, thus making them dangerous.

Six Sentence Sunday:Halloween Novella Scent of a Witch

Unable to look away he watched as she moved her feet in and out of the water allowing him a generous view of long shapely calves that flowed seamlessly into milky white thighs. His throat tightened as desire burned in him. She leaned forward reaching out with her right arm bending her right knee in. So enchanted by the movement of the graceful beauty he didn’t see the dagger that appeared in her left hand until it took off a lock of his hair before firmly ending in the tree behind him.

The realization that he almost died startled Fionn out of his daze. The wild haired woman let out a

particularly unladylike old Gaelic curse as her eyes looked all around as if seeking escape.

That's from my current WIP hopefully releasing with Astraea Press around Halloween. It's a cross genre paranormal/historical romance entitled Scent of a Woman. And true to form I can see a series spurring from the one novella like my Familial Witch novella.

Don't forget to head back to Six Sentence Sunday for even more appetizers.

Six Sentence Sunday: Don't mess with a Glazier

Welcome to Six Sentence Sunday...Today you get a taste of Marie and Henry in my new release Glazier. To say Marie has a bit of a temper would be like calling the sun a little bright.

"“OOOWWW. What happened to four?” With his grip even stronger, he spun me into his chest. When he tried to wrap his other arm around me to trap me in his grasp, my head whipped back, and I popped him right in the nose. Shouting in pain, he let go and I fell to the floor. I hadn’t expected him to drop me. Rolling to my left side, I couldn’t find any part of me that wasn’t hurting."

And lets not forget to go back to Six Sentence Sunday for more fun and teasing.

Six Sentence Sunday: Witch and Death

How I love Six Sentence Sunday. This one comes from my work in progress Forever Witch, the full length novel sequel to my novella Familial Witch. The different beings that have appeared in this novel have surprised even me. Mermaids, Eternals, enchantresses, witches, vampires, goddesses and now a being or messenger of Death. In this scene as Aisleen assumes a ghostlike form because she's battling for her life the being of Death appears to her and offers her a favor.

“I have roamed between realms taking the spirits that die from one world to another for longer than anyone can count. Only magical beings can see me other than those souls. During that time only one has paid me a kindness. Even in her greatest grief, she thought of me and not of herself.” Aisleen mused again how it was odd she could feel tears as a spirit. Memories of her sisters deaths assaulted her, for each time she had saw Death it was with their demise.

“I have waited to pay that kindness. So here I am kind Aisleen, at your service.”

Lucien Lemione, the clan leader of the feared and revered Eternals, is faced with the ultimate betrayal. His second in command for two centuries has not only created the most grievous of offenses but also commissioned the creation of liquid silver. When poisoned by this toxin, an immortal suffers a fate much worse than death, frozen in an internal prison. After being wounded when found spying, he hides deep within the eerie woods that encircle the Triad Mountains. Desperate and in pain, he prays to an offended mother goddess for help. Her answer: a woman, but not just any woman. A witch.
After losing her entire coven at the hands of the Eternals, Aisleen is the last of her kind. She retreats from the world to Trinity Forest where she is giving the opportunity of a lifetime, or perhaps a test of principles. It’s there she discovers the man she heals is the Eternal that wiped out her people. Although she is bound as a healer, she could be creative in her revenge. Aisleen knows who and what Lucien is…but does not speak of it. There can be no future with Lucien for she can only be with a mortal man. Even if she wanted to be with him, can she forgive the man that caused the genocide of her people?
Lucien must act quickly for the survival of his clan is at stake. However, Aisleen’s ethereal beauty and emerald eyes keep pushing those thoughts far from his mind. Determined to find out what secret she hides, he prolongs his time with her. When his people need him most what will he choose…duty, desire, or will he make his own fate?
You can choose love but you can’t choose destiny.

Six sentence Sunday the first of many dadadum

My first SSS how'd I do? Are you interested in my little novella?
Vampires and eternals had actually been at war for a century
before Lucien negotiated a truce between the clan leaders. Alistair
had been infuriated. While Lucien didn’t have any empathy for a
vampire, kidnapping and torture definitely went against the treaty
terms. Is that what Alistair wants…to begin the war again? No,
not that. He wondered what Alistair’s intentions were since
vampires and eternals shared a common weakness with silver…
