Have you ever listened to Adele? You know that beautiful girl with hips and awesome eyelashes and big hair from Europe. Anyways, I’m a huge fan. She’s amazing. Usually I just let her songs play while my mind wonders. In fact I have a whole Pandora Channel dedicated to her.

This morning as I was listening to “Turning Tables” I noticed some of her lyrics more so than usual. Then “Love Song” played and this one particular phrase popped out I won’t let you close enough to hurt me. I thought, “ Holy cow… some douche bag really put this girl through a lot.”

Then I had a “Woa Nelly” moment.

Life Lesson 782: Early Risers Know Why They Rise

I recently had a friend/colleague who is a bit of a Night Owl or more like a don't sleep until dawn kind of person ask me, "Why do you get up so early?" I get up at around 5AM most days and walk or work out. Usually it's walking. I have been walking since I was very young when I went with my Paw Paw. But it was when I started writing that I really learned the value of early mornings and the ability to ponder. Yes ponder. 


I find that I'm more centered. I find beauty in the majesty around me. Scents are stronger and a feeling of being at peace stirs within. After all that my mind will start wondering. 


For example, after this morning's walk I sat down with my laptop in the rocking chair and wrote 3 blog posts. The morning before I wrote 1200 words in my newest novel Season of a Witch.
So to answer not just my friend by you also my reader dears why I get up at the hour the sun rises...it's for all those wonderful reasons there but these as well.

Since June of 2011, I have been blogging about the writing process and everything that has inspired me to write along the way. I have blogged about things that I have learned and I also have reached out to several writing communities to help me out with some posts. But what I have noticed the most about those communities is that if you treat them right your blog can actually benefit and see some growth from those communities. But if you don't...you may find that you are all alone in a desert

Let the light in

I have to say that I have recently noticed a big difference in my productivity.
Unsure of how that actually came to pass. I've been thinking about it. And the main difference I can find is that I have switched from a very dark office to one with so much light I look like a shadow person on Skype.

It's a proven fact that sunlight produces a vitamin that gives you more energy and that entail produces a chemical in your mind that puts you in a better mood. I have no idea what the vitamin or chemical is called and frankly don't care.

I've tested it...it works.I've also read that's why people are more depressed in winter...less sunlight.

Anyhow...I'm thrilled with this new development. What about you...do you have any tricks on productivity or thoughts on sunlight?
